Ontology blitz
From HAO Wiki
Have a several day to week long ontology "blitz"
- possible ideas for the virtual "event"
- identify a specific day or week on which everyone attempts to contribute as much as possible to the ontology
- targeted for relatively early in the year (find a period of time during the semester that is not crunch time, end of March, early April?), such that the effort can be discussed/reviewed in Durban?
- need not be BIG (i.e. many many people), just focused
- HO committee could have s smaller pre-blitz day to test the feasibility of this being useful
- blitz could involve adding literature, relationships among terms, tagging figures, tagging errors etc.
- during this time those with more intimate knowledge of the process of building the ontology would be readily available (Skype?) for help/answering questions etc.
- perhaps target a single larger (piece of literature/part of a hymenopteran/authors collection of works) and try to integrate it completely into the ontology
- other ideas ... ?
