Confusing anatomical complexes

genitalia
How do we distinguish external from internal structures collectively and terminologically. E.g., does 'male genitalia' refer to the genital capsule plus the testes, accessory gland, etc.?
ridges, sutures, carinae, etc.
What (if any) relationship should we use for ridges that correspond to sulci? E.g., the external 'ocular suture' around the eye corresponds to the internal 'circumocular ridge'. How do we relate those?
hair vs. seta
Developmentally speaking, are these structures homologous? I.e., the true hair of mammals and the setae of insects. Maybe we should discourage the use of 'hair' in reference to setae.
signum, line, and patch/region
Given these definitions:
signum - A line or patch marking the site of a muscle attachment.
line - Any linear mark on the external surface of a sclerite.
patch - A small region.
region - Any part of the external surface of a sclerite.
What are the relationships for signum?
foramen and part_of
If a foramen is_a anatomical space can it actually be part_of something? E.g., can we have occipital foramen part_of occiput? Other anatomical ontologies do not have part_of relationships for foramena.
