Conflicts with other ontologies

Any compound term that includes (or each of these terms individually) may create confusing with existing ontologies:

  • process (see 'process' in GO)
  • line (see 'line' in CARO)
  • point (see 'point' in CARO)
  • membrane is used in many places to refer to areas of less sclerotized cuticle (e.g., between terga) and to refer to the wing cuticle. This might create confusion with other domains where cuticle refers to "Double layer of lipid molecules that encloses all cells, and, in eukaryotes, many organelles; may be a single or double lipid bilayer; also includes associated proteins." (id: GO:0016020, name: membrane)
