Compound terms

Do we give specific types of structures explicit definitions and allow for compound terms to be constructed from two (or more) independent classes? Or do we just create many classes. An example would be pit, which has an explicit definition. Do we then
- create a separate class each for 'tentorial pit', 'profurcal pit', etc.? Or do we...
- allow those anatomical entities to be composed from two classes: 'tentorial' (synonym of 'tentorium') 'pit' and 'profurcal' (synonym of 'profurca') 'pit'.
The other anatomical ontologies by and large use separate classes for each pit (option 1) A better example is with setae in DGAO and the Mosquito anatomy ontology.
